China Southern Carries A-League Champions to China

April 1, 2014 Corporate No Comments Email Email

As China Southern Airlines continues its expansion down under the airline has ramped up its group travel focus by flying two A-League teams to China for the Asian Champions League.

First to go was Melbourne Victory for its match against Guangzhou Evergrande earlier this year while reigning A-League champions Western City Wanderers were flown to southern China earlier this month to take on hotly-favoured Guizhou Renhe.

Each flight saw around 30 players and staff fly from Sydney and Melbourne in what China Southern General Manager Australia/New Zealand Henry He hoped would be new two-way business for the airline.

“We’re delighted to fly Australia’s football stars on our Canton Route from Australia and look forward to carrying them on many more successful endeavours in the future,” Mr He said.

“With 32 weekly flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to our Guangzhou hub and many more onward flights throughout China, Asia, Europe and America, we can take local sports stars just about anywhere in the world to pursue their sporting goals and dreams.”
