China Southern Airlines has announced a hot $5132* Business Cass fare to Paris to launch direct daily flights from Brisbane to Guangzhou from Monday, November 18.

“This is the first time we are going daily out of Brisbane so we are offering very competitive fares to attract more Queensland customers to China and the other destinations we fly to around the world on our popular Canton Route,” said China Southern General Manager Brisbane Edward Wang.

Speaking at an industry celebration to launch the new flights, Mr Wang said China Southern passengers now got to enjoy seatback TVs in all classes and lie flat seats in Business Class on the latest A330-200 aircraft to and from Brisbane.

“On top of that passengers flying on our Canton Route to Europe, Asia and the US can now stop over in our exciting hub city of Guangzhou without a visa for up to 72 hours because of a change in visa regulations affecting Guangdong Province.

“This offers our passengers a wonderful way to break up their journey and experience the great Cantonese cooking and vitality that makes China’s southern-most province of Guangdong such a great place to visit to experience the real essence of mainland China.”

Mr Wang said the new daily flights would benefit inbound tourism as well, by adding an extra 648 seats a week into Brisbane.

Queensland Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games Jann Stuckey said the extra capacity would further bolster Queensland’s $22 billion tourism industry.

“Queensland’s strong relationship with China Southern Airlines which, commenced flying to the state in 2010, is reinforced with the arrival of these daily services,” Ms Stuckey said.

“Tourism and Events Queensland continues to work closely with the airline and other industry partners to support China Southern services with marketing activity in China, including promotion of Cai Guo-Qiang’s first solo exhibition in Australia at the world-class Gallery of Modern Art beginning this month.

“China is the state’s fastest growing international market and largest by visitor expenditure, with travellers spending $536 million in the state last financial year, an increase of 27 per cent on the year prior.

“Increasing aviation access is paramount to the strength of the industry and supports the Government’s goal of doubling annual overnight visitor expenditure from $15 billion to $30 billion by 2020.”
