China Southern Supports Regional Newspaper Awards

The print media has a bright future and is not about to go the way of the dodo – if China Southern Airlines has its way.

The occasion was the annual PANPA Newspaper Awards in Sydney and Sally received the ticket and a $10,000 bursary to study any aspect of newspaper operations in the UK, Europe or US as the winner of PANPA’s highly coveted Hegarty Award, established in 1987 to recognise management skills in young newspaper executives under-35.

PANPA, which is short for the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers’ Association, represents more than 1000 newspapers and news websites throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

“China Southern is delighted to support the ongoing development of the print media at such an extraordinary time in its history,” Mr Bryant said in presenting the ticket.
