China World Hotel, Beijing Partners With LEGLE FRANCE To Introduce New Three-Tier Lotus Afternoon Tea
Different from the previous Lotus Afternoon Tea with French patisserie made with Chinese ingredients, the new tea set includes a host of new sweet and savoury items created by Executive Pastry Chef Jonathan. Paired with four selected beverages, namely, English Breakfast, Zhengshan Black Tea, Premium Coffee and Hot Chocolate, the new three-tier Lotus Afternoon Tea is a new must-try delicacy during Beijing’s autumn and winter seasons.
Continue to incorporate Chinese ingredients into Western pastries, the new three-tier Lotus Afternoon Tea provides additional savouries and sandwiches. The first layer is the classic British Scone with the hotel’s home-made Litchi and Grapefruit Jam and Clotted Cream. The second tier combines both Chinese and Western pastries. Some of the highlights include Assorted Nut Cake, Baked Mince Pork Puff (Huangqiao Puff), Mixed Berry Tart, Apple Crumble and Assorted Macaroons. Guests can also sample the new Hawthorn Macaroon and Apple Crumble topped with Chinese Almond. The bottom tier offers a combination of savouries and sandwiches, among which, the Peking Duck Parcel pays tribute to the local culinary culture.
The delightful three-tier Lotus Afternoon Tea Set is priced at RMB288 per set, subject to a 15% service charge per person and will be served at Lobby Lounge from Monday to Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Reservations may be made through (86 10) 6505 2266.
China World Hotel, Beijing is the first hotel in mainland China to offer this type of afternoon tea. LEGLE FRANCE has over 100 years of history and is known around the
world for its skill in glazing porcelain and its wonderful, vivid colours. Guests will be able to indulge in their own fashion fantasy at Lobby Lounge.
In the lotus tea service, pure-white porcelain represents the delicate petals of the lotus blossom in a garden of elegant forms. Every object in the tea set is a reminder to slow down and be calm, quieting the mind and heightening the senses. Just as the flawless lotus rises immaculate above the soil, so can guests rise above the chaos of the world.
LEGLE FRANCE has placed three unique designs onto the flawless white surface of each piece. Representing centuries of heritage in the tradition of hand-painted porcelain, Hungarian artist Erika Albrecht has created colourful expressions of lotus from her celebrated hometown of Herend.
The vibrant lotus green enhances each plate’s fanned edges, perfectly evoking the floating leaves of the lotus, the blossom of which is delicately depicted on the side of each vessel with the sensitivity and precision of a botanical painter.
Born of two great Limoges porcelain families, the Legrands and the Leboucs, LEGLE FRANCE dates back over 100 years. Based in Limoges, France – known around the world as the centre of fine porcelain production – LEGLE FRANCE is noted for its skill in glazing porcelain and its wonderful, vivid colours.
LEGLE FRANCE’s passion for design, craftsmanship, glaze colour and quality are at the heart of how it works with that magical material – porcelain. For more information, please visit www.legle.asia.
