China World Summit Wing, Beijing continues to revitalise the lunch options at The Lounge with four hearty Wellness Sets – Purify, Detox, Anti-Aging and Mineral – available daily from noon to 2 p.m. Each four-course set is packed with nourishing super foods that provide a different set of benefits. The Wellness Lunch Sets are each priced at RMB198 plus 15 per cent surcharge.

The Lounge encourages diners to take a break from quick lunches of takeouts with a leisurely and healthy Wellness Set Lunch specially designed by the culinary team to promote balanced diets. Each set comprises a serving of gourmet salad, nourishing soup, a main course of sandwich, wrap or fish and a glass of healthy fresh juice of watermelon, grapefruit or orange.

The Purify Wellness Set starts with a Cholesterol Reduction Salad, a thougtful blend of green apple, avocado, smoked salmon, almond, black fungus and flax seed oil, followed by a comforting bowl of Slow-Roasted Vine Tomato Soup topped with fresh basil. A traditional food and remedy in Mediterranean culture, flaxseed oil has been shown to help lowers triglycerides. The pleasantly tangy tomato broth is an outstanding source of quercetin, vitamin C and sulphur, which maintains supple and smooth skin. Fibre Chicken Sandwich is a good source of low-fat protein. It is made with slow-roasted chicken breast, lettuce and gherkin, and served with tangy grain mustard on multi-grain seed loaves.

The Detox Wellness Lunch Set aims to alleviate toxins from the body. The Cardiovascular Salad is a colourful and fortifying plate of fruits (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry and dried cranberry) mixed with a beneficial spice mix of chilli, cumin powder and garlic. Cumin stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, which are necessary for proper digestion. Red chilli reduces blood cholesterol and increases the body’s ability to dissolve fibrin, a substance integral to the formation of blood clots. The flavourful salad is paired with a light broth of Mushroom Consommé with Chinese black fungus and truffle oil. The main course of Poached Salmon Fillet is paired with baby greens and light honey Yuzu dressing. Guests can savour the fresh and tender meat that is chock-full of omega-3, protein, iron, and vitamin B12.

The Anti-Aging Wellness Lunch Set is designed to add years to life for healthy aging and staving off age-related diseases, including osteoporosis, diabetes and heart disease. A Skin Facial Therapy Salad delivers with blueberry, avocado, egg, soya beans and salmon. High in monosaturated fat, avocado protects the body’s cells from free-radical damage and improves bone density. An excellent dietary source of beta-carotene, carrot is the key ingredient in this soup flavoured with ginger. The herb is high in vitamin C – one of the main antioxidants used to fight wrinkles. Tuna Wrap served with crisp lettuce, avocado, onion, gherkins and fresh coriander will fill the belly. Loaded with omega-3 and DHA, tuna is an excellent source of protein for smooth digestion and glowing skin.

The Mineral Wellness Lunch Set will boost the body’s immunity with a Healthy Hair Salad of oatmeal, seaweed, pumpkin seed, raspberry, salmon, flaxseed oil and yoghurt. As hair is made of protein, the combination of high-protein foods aids in the growth of a healthy, strong mane. One of the most popular winter-squash vegetables with a high amount of dietary fibre and phyto-nutrients, butternut squash is made into soup and topped with fresh walnuts and cinnamon. Fans of silver cod will love the fish baked and served with arugula salad, black bean sauce and a refreshing homemade citrus dressing. Cod is a low-calorie source of protein with an excellent source of vitamins B12 and B6, both of which help reduce the risks of heart attack and stroke.

The Lounge also offers a la carte Western and Oriental specialties, including healthy main courses and a Super Salads menu that was launched in April 2015.
