The East meets West. Taiwanese tea desserts meet the world

Besides their delectable taste, pineapple cakes are often gifted in Taiwanese society due to the pronunciation being close to the meaning of “good fortune” in the Taiwanese dialect. With chocolate incorporated, the classic pineapple cake is reinvented with special care and love for your friends and family. The 2011 and 2013 World Chocolate Master winner, chef Ji-hsian Zheng and pastry chef Zhao-cai Liu from My Humble House, work hand in hand to create the stylish desserts incorporating both East and West traits. The 8-piece Chocolate and Pineapple Cake Gift Box is made with French Valrhona Chocolate to create the dark delicate chocolate crust, in which the bittersweet flavor stimulates your palate to awaken your senses. Under the inviting chocolate crust, a moist and fibrous filling made from both chocolate and fresh pineapple originating from Taiwan’s Guanmiao Township in Tainan is revealed. The chef mixes the pineapples with chocolate to enrich the flavors of the chocolate crust and the velvety pineapple filling while balancing the sweet and sour tastes for your palate.

Black Diamond-Taste Extraordinaire Gift Box is a deluxe set that cannot be missed as a gift choice for the festival, combining the unique chocolate pineapple cakes and the most popular item from My Humble House: the XO sauce. Chef Tai-rong Chen adds adds distinctive black truffle paste to the XO sauce which cannot be found in traditional moon cake offerings.  Scallops, dried shrimps, Jinhua ham, together with diced black truffles are stir-fried nonstop for 60 to 80 minutes to release the aroma of the ingredients. When set to cool, black truffles paste and oil are also added to accentuate the natural flavor. The rich flavor will be released the minute the bottle is opened and when tasted, the exceptional texture of black truffles is a delight to the palate. The XO sauce is served to compliment all sorts of gourmet dishes to enhance the flavor.
