Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, one of Australia’s largest hotel franchise groups, today announced the appointment of their new General Manager, Development, Sarah McCully.

Ms McCully is the former General Manager of Star Ratings Australia, the internationally recognised accreditor of quality accommodation standards. In her new role, Ms McCully will be responsible for the growth and retention of the Choice Hotels portfolio across the Econo Lodge, Comfort, Quality, and Clarion brands and the Ascend Hotel Collection in Asia-Pac.

Ms McCully will utilise her 20 years of management and marketing experience, as well as her solid knowledge of the Australian tourism industry, to strengthen Choice Hotels’ property portfolio across the Asia Pacific region.

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO, Trent Fraser, said he was thrilled to welcome someone of Sarah’s calibre to the organisation.

“The continued development and growth of our portfolio is key to our success”, said Mr Fraser. “We have high expectations for the further growth of our franchise group under her guidance”.

Commenting on her recent appointment, Ms McCully said she was excited to start putting new plans into place.

“In the lead up to coming on board with Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, I was made aware of some exciting and innovative new propositions for the group and I am now thrilled to be a part of, and lead, the development team through the role out of these initiatives”, said Ms McCully. “I’m also looking forward to collaborating with existing and prospective new franchisees across Australia and New Zealand and showcasing the benefits, and more importantly the value, of being a part of the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac brand”.

Prior to working at Star Ratings Australia, Ms McCully spent four years as General Manager, Park Services and Acquisition, at BIG4 Holiday Parks, where she developed and rolled out a value based account management support structure. Ms McCully was also a key member of the executive team responsible for the delivery of the revised BIG4 Holiday Parks loyalty based membership program.
