Online travel insurance provider InsureandGo has received a recommendation from Australia’s leading consumer advocacy group CHOICE for their Gold travel insurance policy, as part of the annual CHOICE travel insurance review.

The annual CHOICE review compares a range of insurers, and assesses the benefits, claims performance and costs of an array of travel insurance policies.

As part of their process in making their recommendations, CHOICE reviewed and compared 115 travel insurance policies.

General Manager of InsureandGo, Sebastian Kaisin, believes this recognition is a testament to InsureandGo’s comprehensive and affordable policy.

“We are thrilled to be recognised by CHOICE for our Gold travel insurance policy. This is our most comprehensive policy on offer which is why we believe it resonated so strongly with the CHOICE panel.

“We know how important peace of mind is when seeing the world, and are incredibly proud of the fact that Australians trust us to help out if things go wrong. In just a few short years in Australia, our products have managed to find a home with hundreds of thousands of Australian travellers. Whether it’s lost valuables or even medical issues, we want our customers to know that we are there to help them in their time of need,” said Mr Kaisin.

CHOICE recently completed a review which compared travel insurance policies offered by airlines and by their insurer. It found that airline travel insurance policies can cost up to 150 per cent more than purchasing directly from the same travel insurer.

“It’s important that travellers do their own research to find the right policy to suit their needs. Some Australians may not be aware of what’s out there and are simply going with what their airline provides, without realising they may be able to find a similar product at a more affordable price by purchasing directly from a travel insurance company.

“Travel insurance doesn’t need to break the bank, but it’s important to have in case things go wrong. We strongly recommend Australians take a look at what their provider is offering and if it’s right for their holiday,” concluded Mr Kaisin.

InsureandGo provide personalised policies that cover most types of travellers, including families, backpackers, seniors and those embarking on cruises. They also provide coverage for those with pre-existing medical conditions, who may have experienced difficulty finding a provider to cover them.
