Riviera Travel River Cruises hosted its Australian communications representative, Andrew Mevissen, to his first taste of the company’s product just before Christmas when he joined a six-day Christmas Markets cruise in Europe.
The festive, six-day journey was aboard the line’s five-star ship, Thomas Hardy, which sailed round-trip on the Danube River from Budapest to Bratislava and Vienna, taking in the many Yuletide markets in each city.
Andrew is pictured here with the ship in Bratislava, Slovakia, and also in the ship’s heated plunge pool, which provided a toasty viewing point for the wintry scenery passing by. Ship-top pools are not common on European river ships but those on Riviera Travel’s ships are heated year-round and as hot as a jacuzzi in winter, according to Andrew’s first-hand account.
