Circumnavigate the Arctic in one marathon adventure with Peregrine

June 11, 2015 Travel Deals No Comments Email Email

Peregrine is giving modern-day explorers the chance to experience the ultimate Arctic adventure with four new voyages that can be linked together to form a circumnavigation of the Arctic.

The incredible voyages all take place on board the Kapitan Khlebnikov, an icebreaker ship designed to take on the harshness ofnorthern Siberia. It will cruise through the sea, crunch through ice and take to the skies in a Mi-2 helicopter to gain a unique perspective of the region.

The following Arctic Icebreaker Expeditions can be taken together or separately, each being as unique as the region is remote.

Epic Northeast Passage

Cruise along Russia’s northern coast to discover the seldom visited Russian Arctic – some of the least explored, most isolated regions the planet still has to offer. Enjoy landings at small Siberian islands, travel through the stark landscape of Severnaya Zemlya – the world’s last discovered archipelago, make helicopter landings on the World Heritage site of Wrangel Island, and visit remote Franz Joseph Land before finishing the adventure in Longyearbyen.

Departure date: 10 July, 2016

Price: from $41,845 per person

Extreme Greenland

Discover the Greenland few get to see on this voyage into the wilds of the Arctic. Take a journey to Northeast Greenland National Park via Cape Morris Jesup and visit Shannon and Ella Islands, Ittoqqortoormiit, Rodefjord and Danmark Island before ending the voyage in Ottawa. If ice and weather conditions are in favour, this expedition could make polar history by breaking a passage along Greenland’s incredible northern coast.

Departure dates: 4 August, 2016

Price: from $32,935 per person

Best of the Canadian High Arctic

Be exposed to Canada’s High Arctic culture on visits to Sisimiut, Uummannaq, Upernavik and Qaanaaq, cruise out by zodiac for a close inspection of Illulissat Fjord – the Northern Hemisphere’s most productive glacier, scan the skies for birdlife at Apparsuit – the world’s largest bird cliff, and search for walrus and polar bears at McDougall Sound.

Departure dates: 22 August, 2016

Price: from $28,115 per person

Ultimate Northwest Passage

Venture into the Arctic’s wild heart on this 18-day voyage from northern Canada through Alaska and down into Russia’s far east. Search out polar bear and ancient Thule sites at Radstock Bay, marvel at the falls and Arctic desert of Aulavik National Park and see the Smoking Hills in Amundsen Gulf.

Departure date: 6 September, 2016

Price: from $30,580 per person

To celebrate the launch of the Kapitan Khlebnikov voyages, Peregrine is offering an early bird discount of 15% off Suites and Corner Suites and 10% off twin cabins on each voyage. Bookings must be made before 1 September 2015.
