A newspaper cruise insert has claimed the major prize in the final week of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia’s month-long #ChooseCruise campaign.

After compiling a 16-page cruise supplement which was inserted in the New Zealand Herald, Bon Voyage Cruises & Travel has won the final #ChooseCruise cruise prize – a seven-night Tasmania voyage with Coral Expeditions.

“We are thrilled with the win. We try to do things a little differently and this has been a big, slow-burn marketing effort and branding exercise, which we couldn’t have done without the faith and financial support of our key supplier partners,” Gerard Murphy from Bon Voyage said.

“While we get excellent sales from it, the main idea is to show that a cruise accredited travel agency is the best source for great cruise advice.”

Exclusively Cruising has also been rewarded for a fantastic #ChooseCruise campaign, with the Victorian agency receiving a $500 Breakaway Travelclub voucher for their online cruise promotions.

Throughout the month-long campaign, agents were encouraged to get creative with cruise promotions and CLIA Australasia & Asia Managing Director Joel Katz said this year was a standout.

“As our annual month-long cruise campaign evolves each year, it’s great to see more and more Australian and New Zealand agencies getting involved.

“This year, as we encouraged holidaymakers to #ChooseCruise during October, we saw innovative and out-of-the-box campaigns on both sides of the ditch.

“From billboards to cruise inserts and exciting social media campaigns, it has been great to see cruise accredited agents embrace the promotion and create more awareness around all types of cruising,” Mr Katz said.

During October every year, CLIA offices around the world raise awareness of cruise holidays as part of a month-long campaign which focuses on ocean, river, luxury and expedition cruising.
