Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has revealed the first winners of its #ChooseCruise promotion.

New Zealand agency Quay Cruise has won a P&O Cruises holiday for its efforts in promoting cruising during #ChooseCruise ocean week.

The team promoted a range of ocean cruise deals in the NZ Herald, did a postcard letterbox drop, an ocean cruise themed newsletter, some social media posts and are hosting information nights on cruising during October.

Managing Director Quay Cruise Michelle Malcolm said #ChooseCruise was a great annual promotion and she was looking forward to giving the cruise to one of her hard-working team members.

“We are absolutely delighted with the response, the sales, and the new leads that the CLIA cruise month promotion is generating,” Michelle said.

Sarah Fenton from MTA Travel has been awarded a $500 Breakaway Travel Voucher for her #ChooseCruise social media campaign last week.

“I’m very excited to have won this voucher and appreciate the generous gift from Breakaway. This is the third year I have been recognised by CLIA during the October cruise promotion and I continue to work hard on these campaigns as I truly believe that cruise is the best value holiday around,” Ms Fenton said.

To reward their efforts throughout the month-long #ChooseCruise promotion, CLIA Australasia will offer weekly prizes to CLIA travel agents who get behind the campaign.

This week (October 9-15) the spotlight is on river cruising as a relaxing way to travel, with luxury and expedition cruising to be promoted in the coming weeks.

During October every year, CLIA offices around the world raise awareness of cruising as a great value, easy, fun and memorable holiday for people from all walks of life, and encourage travellers to choose and book a cruise.
