Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has revealed that a record number of nominations have been submitted for its new look Cruise Industry Awards.

CLIA Australasia & Asia Managing Director Joel Katz said the association was thrilled with the response to its revamped awards night.

“We’ve been inundated with submissions for the 2018 Cruise Industry Awards in both the newly opened and usual self-nomination categories.

“We know how passionate and hardworking CLIA agents are so it’s fantastic to see an overwhelming number of nominations right across the board. We can’t wait to show off our new ‘CLIAs’ and celebrate another big year of cruise,” Mr Katz said.

For the first time, CLIA member agents could submit nominations in eleven categories including Cruise Consultant, Rising Star, Home Based/Mobile Agent of the Year for both Australia and New Zealand, and the newly created Cruise Champion.

A total of 18 awards will be handed out at ‘The CLIAs’ at The Star, Sydney, on Saturday 23 February 23 2019. Tickets are now on sale.

“We’re encouraging anyone who hasn’t yet snapped up a ticket to do so before Christmas, so they don’t miss out on the new and improved ‘CLIAs’.”

The event’s headline sponsors are Emirates and Dubai Tourism, gold sponsors include Princess Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and silver sponsors are Scenic, MSC Cruises, Aurora Expeditions, Silversea and APT.
