The April carnival in Seychelles is listed on the calendar of events of the Indian Ocean Vanilla islands alongside the Tourism Trade Fair of Madagascar of May, the Cultural & Gastronomic Festival of Comoros in August and the Festival Liberte Metisse of La Reunion in December .

Minister St.Ange also said on television that it has now been confirmed that the 2015 UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) Commission For Africa (CAF) Ministerial Meeting will be held in Seychelles at the same time as the 2015 edition of the carnival. The decision was taken at the 56th Session of the Commission For Africa Meeting that was held in Angola last week. “This will be a great opportunity for Africa as a whole to appreciate the Indian Ocean Event where one’s culture is showcased as a marketing tool for tourism destinations” cain the Seychelles Minister.
