Coca and Mango Tree Restaurants Expand Rapidly With an Impressive Combination of Exciting New Brands and Destinations
Coca and Mango Tree Restaurants Worldwide is building on the group’s well established reputation as a leading global name in genuine Thai and Thai-influenced cuisine with a series of appealing new new outlets opening in locations across Asia. Coca and Mango Tree Restaurants Worldwide already operates franchised restaurants in many of the world’s leading cities, including Tokyo, London, Hong Kong and Washington DC, as well as in its home base of Bangkok. The group recently added Nepal to its global destination list with the launch of Kathmandu’s first branded Thai restaurant in August – Mango Chilli Café – which is already a hit with locals and international visitors in the Himalayan capital.
The COCA Restaurant brand also expanded earlier this year with its fourth outlet in Ho Chi Minh City. This was followed by the launch of COCA Hua Hin, which opened in Thailand’s newest lifestyle and shopping destination, Bluport Hua Hin Resort Mall, offering a fresh new design to represent its seaside location and a menu catering to a new generation of COCA customers.
“In Ho Chi Minh and Hua Hin we have introduced a new menu of culinary delights with less appetizers and stir fries, and a stronger focus on variety in terms of both the flavours on offer and cooking styles used,” says Coca and Mango Tree Worldwide Managing Director Trevor MacKenzie. “In Vietnam, we highlight organic, locally sourced fresh vegetables and carefully selected meats, while in Hua Hin we have added a fresh seafood concept with fish, squid and prawns sourced direct from local fisherman and either grilled on our outdoor grill, which is perfect for family barbecues, or served in the brand’s signature hot-pots.”
Fresh seafood specials at COCA Hua Hin include a Cajun seafood bucket and fresh mud crab, the restaurant even serves imported live Maine lobsters. The new COCA concept also brings delicious additions to the menu with enticing all-day dim sum and breakfast choices.

“COCA is a family restaurant designed for every occasion,” adds Mr. MacKenzie. “It’s the perfect spot for a quick afternoon bite, a business lunch, or a full scale seafood feast with family and friends.”
Hot on the heels of COCA Hua Hin comes the launch of a third new outlet just over the border in Myanmar, scheduled to open before Chinese New Year. COCA Yangon will be located inside the Yangon International Hotel with its own separate entrance.
“We chose the location because it offers plenty of parking and sits just outside the downtown traffic congestion making it easily assessable from the north and the south of the city,” explains Mr. MacKenzie. “The unique feature there will be fresh noodles made in-house with a range of varieties served in approachable, comfortable surroundings designed to attract a mix of business diners, families and tourists. We have already had great success with previous outlets in Myanmar so now is the time to expand as the country and its capital city grow and develop.”
Elsewhere in Asia, new Mango Tree Restaurants will also be opening soon to offer lovers of Thai food the best of the Kingdom’s flavours in locations beyond its borders.
Following the success of the brand’s flagship outlets in Causeway Bay and Kowloon, Hong Kong’s first Mango Tree Café will open at the end of December to offer the city’s foodies a selection of Thai classics, including yellow curry with beef, Pad Thai, green curry and grilled pork neck, as well as some innovative new culinary twists like Thai pizza, spaghetti with Thai basil and traditional Thai-style chicken cooked using a specially imported rotisserie from France.
“The talented team at Steve Leung designed all our outlets in Hong Kong and China, and they rose to the occasion again this time to create a product that suits the location inside City Plaza 1 in the Taikoo Shing area, which is home to a mixture of commercial and residential buildings,” said Mr. MacKenzie. “Launching a Mango Tree Café in Hong Kong fits well with our overall strategy to tier the brand and reach a wider audience of discerning diners as our name continues to become more popular in specific cities, as well as around the region and around the world. Our next opening will be in Dubai, where an agreement is soon to being finalized.”
