Sigiriya Rock fortressBOUTIQUE adventure operator Travel Directors have designed two fascinating journeys to India and Sri Lanka that can be combined to run back-to-back to create a 36-day once-in-a-lifetime experience or for those with less time can be taken as individual holidays.

The first itinerary departs all Australian capital cities on October 15 and is a 14-day roundtrip from the Sri Lankan capital Colombo with a focus on nature and wildlife so guests will visit places like the world-famous botanical gardens in Kandy, Minneriya National Park, stay in a tea factory hotel, see the leopards at Yala National Park and much more.

The 22-day “Rail Across India” tour begins on October 29 to combine perfectly after the Sri Lankan Sojourn. Travel through India  is on a collection of historic railways including the World Heritage-listed “toy train” and the grand Palace on Wheels, offering the perfect vantage point to view the changing landscape and local communities.

Travelling from Kolkata to Delhi, guests will stay in some of India’s finest hotels, notably the Imperial and Taj Palace in Delhi and the Oberoi Grand in Kolkata. The route covers all the highlights including Darjeeling, Varanasi, Delhi, Shimla, Jaipur, Chittorgarh (Rathambhore Tiger Reserve), Udaipur Jodhpur and of course Agra to view the country’s most famous monument the Taj Mahal.
