The annual Taiwan International Travel Fair (ITF) is being held on Oct. 18-21 this year, and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has organized a national pavilion with 20 booths focused on the theme of the “Taiwan Event Calendar” in an exhibit made all the more awesome by a huge LED screen 8.5 meters wide and 2 meters tall.

The gigantic screen promotes exciting festive activities to be held around Taiwan during the whole year, providing a striking spotlight of this year’s ITF.

The Tourism Bureau’s new “Event Calendar” (visit departs from the past practice of site marketing to promote Taiwan through unique local festive activities. Just go online or download the “Event Calendar” app and you will have instant access to information on the island’s international-class religious festivals, folk activities, competitions, and innovative handicraft and cultural activities. The events are arranged by theme, nature, time, and area, and the platform also offers information on cuisine, accommodation, transportation, shopping, and nearby tour itineraries. This calendar makes it easy for visitors to prearrange tours of Taiwan from north to south, from the first of January through the end of December.

Visitors to the Taiwan Pavilion are able to use Augmented Reality interactive display technology to combine the virtual and real worlds in experiencing sky lanterns, bicycles, and romantic flower scenes. By controlling the scene, visitors feel that they are actually part of it; and, after finishing with their interactive fun, they can go to the service counter and pick up a free limited-offer gift. They can also join in a lucky draw at the stage area. Every day, one lucky participant will win a star-class Taiwan hotel voucher.

The Taiwan Pavilion breaks away from the traditional enclosed stage to adopt an open-stage format with a background centered on a large installation of Taiwan island. The stage area is enlivened by a dazzling light show portraying the rich diversity of the “Event Calendar.” A film diva, star chef, and TV host personally will come on stage to introduce Taiwan’s top culinary, fun, and interesting tourist spots. A travel program host, senior guide, eco-tour expert, and famous TV host will share their “secret spots” around Taiwan. Performances will be staged in an interactive fashion, with a member of the public being asked to act as director, and a sand sculptor will demonstrate his extraordinary technique on-site. Among the other activities on stage will be singing by a vocal band. All kinds of exciting activities await you here!

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau notes that with free individual travel (FIT) becoming ever more popular in Taiwan, the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus system will introduce 31 new routes to scenic spots. Taiwan Tour Bus operators are also adding 64 hot new itineraries to their system. The Taiwan Pavilion will do its utmost during the four days of ITF to persuade people from Taiwan and overseas to come and jumps into the island’s never-ending series of unique, and uniquely enchanting, festivals. It’s Time for Taiwan! It’s Time for Celebration!
