COMO Hotels and Resorts is proud to announce that COMO The Treasury has won the award for Best Mini Bar in Australia at the 2017 Gourmet Traveller Hotel Awards, held last night in Melbourne.

An anonymous panel of judges carefully selected by the editors of Australian Gourmet Traveller checked into each nominated hotel before narrowing down their finalists and identifying a winner.

As a guest of COMO The Treasury rooms feature a complimentary bespoke mini bar which includes refreshments replenished daily; including Illy coffee and JING tea, still and sparking water, soft drinks, juices, local Western Australian craft beers, a selection of specially selected gourmet snacks and a seasonal fruit bowl.

Also available in each room, at a cost, are local Western Australian offerings including whisky from Limeburners and vodka and gin from Hippocampus Distillery. Stays in one of COMO The Treasury’s suites feature a slightly more deluxe mini-bar, including a complimentary bottle of Taittinger Champagne.

Anneke Brown, General Manager of COMO The Treasury states: “We are proud and delighted to be recognised by an authority like Gourmet Traveller as having one of Australia’s best hotel experiences, and would like to congratulate all the other winners and finalists alongside us.”

COMO The Treasury was also one of three finalists in the Hotel of the Year and Best Breakfast categories and is featured in the 2017 Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Guide, on sale today.

COMO The Treasury is the first property by COMO Hotels and Resorts in Australia, opening late 2015 as part of the AUD110 million restoration of Perth’s State Buildings. The project was overseen by Kerry Hill Architects and occupies a group of late Victorian stone and brick buildings which over the past 140 years have served as a post office, land titles office and treasury.

The hotel boasts 48 uniquely designed rooms by Hill and are amongst the largest in the country, each different with the shape dictated by the building’s existing structure. All rooms are serene retreats and decorated in a soft, cocooning palette: beiges, whites, limed oak furniture, pale travertine, with bronze and leather accents. Hill has added a mix of subtle colours, bespoke furniture and hand-knotted rugs to create a genuine COMO style at the Perth hotel.

The hotel features a signature COMO Shambhala spa, pool and gym facilities plus two restaurants: Post featuring the group’s signature cuisine and Wildflower.
