COMO The Treasury takes home one-off double trophies at Australian Gourmet Traveller 2016 Hotel Awards
A panel of esteemed Australian Gourmet Traveller judges has awarded COMO The Treasury the two most coveted gongs at last night’s 2016 Australian Hotel Guide Awards: 2016 Hotel of the Yearand 2016 New Hotel of the Year.
At a glamourous awards dinner in Sydney last night, hosted by Gourmet Traveller editor Anthea Loucas and TV personality Chris Bath, hotel GM Anneke Brown accepted the two awards on behalf of COMO The Treasury’s entire team.
COMO The Treasury was the only WA hotel to win an award and it is the very first time that a WA hotel returns home with two Gourmet awards to add to its trophy cabinet in one year.
A team of close to 20 reviewers scoured Australia for newly opened hotels, checking in anonymously and paying their own way, having the same experience as any regular paying guest would. “A great Australian hotel is born”, says the guide, “Amid an influx of exciting new properties opening their doors, COMO Hotels and Resorts’ debut Australian property impressed us most: a fastidious, $110 million restoration that blends Neo-Renaissance flourishes with warm, Western Australian hospitality for a hotel stay that is unique in this country, and exceptional in many ways.”
Hotel GM Anneke Brown said, “We are over the moon with this sensational win, and while we are still basking in the glow of COMO The Treasury featuring on the 2016 Conde Nast Hot List just last month. It is extremely rewarding for the entire team to win these important national gongs that will influence many of our guests throughout the country to come to Perth and experience our hotel.”
Anneke added, “We are delighted to be singled out for the beauty of our grand spaces, the renowned COMO service and our 8 eateries and bars.”
