COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2015 to Explore State-of-the-Art ICT Innovation

June 6, 2015 Exhibitions No Comments Print Print Email Email

COMPUTEX TAIPEI, the most anticipated summer event of the world’s ICT industry, will kick off from June 2nd to 6th, 2015. Like previous events, the total number of booths occupied will exceed 5,000 and all exhibition spaces at Nankang Exhibition Hall, TWTC Exhibition Halls, and TICC will be fully used. COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2015 will emphasize three categories: the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile applications, and cloud technology. Involvement of the ICT industry and the exhibition’s summit forum will contribute to the global ICT industry’s capabilities to confront the fast changing ICT environment and to accelerate the pace in concept reform, industrial transformation, and technical innovation.

While the global economy is gradually stabilizing, the prospect for 2015 is generally optimistic as far as the ICT industry is concerned. Multiple drives expected to lead market growth include the booming rise of big data led by IoT, the multiple increase of cloud services, and the sustaining robust demand for mobile applications, among others.

Wearable applications were a craze in 2014, emphasized by Apple’s release of the Apple Watch last September. There is no doubt that wearable applications will continue to lead trends in 2015. The Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center of the Industrial Technology Research Institute estimated a robust growth of wearable devices in 2015, with  production to total 47 million sets, a predicted rise to 104% compared to 2014, and market value around USD6.8 billion. As another indicator, Gartner released a similar forecast that says the output of smart clothing will increase exponentially from 100 thousand pieces in 2014 to 10 million pieces in 2015.

Foreseeing that wearable devices will likely be the most eye-catching of products at COMPUTEX TAIPEI, a separate exhibition area for wearable technology will be set aside so they may have a stage of their own. Another new category that wins a separate exhibition area this year is the 3D Business & Applications. The organizer points out that new exhibition areas are established only after comprehensive evaluation. The arrangement not only highly reflects industry trends and responds to the demand of ICT companies for transformation, but also allows more precise exhibit classifications and improves buyer efficiency while visiting the show.
