Concierge Travel Group today announced it had reached agreement to acquire the destination marketing company, Alquemie, from its founder and owner Charles Carlow.

The acquisition will take effect from 1st October 2016 and will see the Alquemie business become the fifth brand for Concierge Travel Group alongside Concierge Traveller, Concierge Business Travel, Elegant Resorts & Villas and Freighter Expeditions.

Concierge Travel Group CEO David Greenland said, “We’ve been considering for some time how best to enter the inbound market as we’ve monitored the recent performance of the sector, as well as the future opportunities emerging markets represent for Australia.”

Greenland went on to say, “We see Alquemie, with its focus on tailored and experiential luxury holidays in Australia, as complimentary to our other brands, in particular our outbound leisure business Concierge Traveller, where highly personalised travel planning is key for our clients.”

Alquemie founder and MD Charles Carlow will remain an advisor to the business for a period of time following the sale. He commented, “I am delighted to have reached this agreement with Concierge Travel Group. The team has an appreciation and understanding of the experiential travel services Alquemie offers, and the scale and additional expertise to grow the business further. In that way it is a natural fit.”
