Sabre Corporation the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, today announced an extended distribution agreement with Condor, Germany’s most popular leisure airline. The carrier has selected Sabre as a preferred Global Distribution System (GDS), and will leverage this long-lasting partnership to assist with the development of a new route into Asia, in combination with interline onward flights on Malaysia Airlines.

“For the first time, Condor will operate its own service to Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Malaysia Airlines. Joining Sabre’s rich global travel marketplace in Asia is essential to our growth strategy. Now connected to over 425,000 travel agents globally, we will be in a solid position to expand our reach across the Asia Pacific region, and beyond,” said Carsten Sasse, Head of International Sales, Condor. “We will use this opportunity to evaluate the potential for new routes and eventually look towards options to offer an expanded destination portfolio to Australia and the South Pacific region,” he added.

This announcement represents a sizeable opportunity for travellers located in Asia, as Condor will operate the only non-stop flight between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Frankfurt in Germany.  The service officially started in November 2018, and is available three times a week. Using a B767-300ER aircraft, Condor has the capacity to accommodate close to 750 passengers weekly.

“In addition to providing new airline content to agencies across the region, this new agreement will support Condor’s objectives to explore new routes and markets, and generate incremental revenue,” said Rakesh Narayanan, vice president, Air Line of Business, Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific.
