As the official conference desk for Leeds, ConferenceLeeds has proudly re-launched its Conferencing City proposition, reaffirming Leeds’ position in the UK and international conference industry and primed to bring in thousands of conference delegates to the city.
The strategic shift has seen the development of a city-wide conferencing city proposition that maximises Leeds’ meetings, incentives, conference and events assets and firmly integrates the strengths and expertise of its four core growth sectors of manufacturing, financial and professional services, digital, and health and innovation.
Offering conference organisers a bespoke, tailored service and a multi-venue approach with unique locations, such as the Northern Ballet, The Queens Hotel, the Royal Armouries, as well as three leading university campuses working collaboratively, ConferenceLeeds works to ensure delegates receive a distinct and engaging conferencing experience when visiting the city.
Combine this with access to industry experts from its four key sectors and world-class speakers, as well as offering a dedicated planning team, ConferenceLeeds works through every stage and detail to deliver an event programme like no other.
What’s more, Leeds is the only city outside London to have four Gold AIM accredited venues, and has 18 AIM accredited venues in total. Located at the very heart of the UK, on the crossroads of the M1 and M62 – Leeds is one of the country’s most accessible cities, with transport links by road, rail and air – Leeds Bradford airport is just eight miles from the city centre – making it a truly international destination.
With past successes such as the Networkshop42 and the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists conference, which were both held in 2014, ConferenceLeeds has already brought an array of great events to the region that is known as God’s own Country.
And the re-launch has already brought with it huge success, with a variety of world-class conferences lined up to take place in the city over the next two years thanks to the ConferenceLeeds’ team collaborative, tailored approach with key local suppliers, venues and experiences. The annual Teach First conference will be held across the city this summer for the second year running, The Association of Town Centre Managers, the largest organisation of its kind in Europe, will be conferencing in Leeds throughout July 2015, along with the Lions District Convention, bringing 250 delegates to the city, and the International Association of Language Centres, set to bring 350 delegates to the city, taking place throughout 2015 and 2016.
Jennifer Young, Associate Director of Visitor Economy at Leeds City Council, commented: “This is a really exciting time as we re-launch ConferenceLeeds. The multi-venue approach and access to world leading figures from the four key business sectors allows us to shape bespoke conferences and events to suit and enrich the delegate experience. She continued: “Not only can we look on past successes to showcase how great Leeds is as a conferencing city, but we also have a lot of exciting, high-profile events on the horizon thanks to a hugely successful re-launch.
These are set to bring vast numbers of delegates to the city that will not only add to and support the local economy, but position Leeds as an international destination that can successfully cater for a variety of conferences and events.”
