Award-winning Conrad Bali has announced the latest exhibition in its acclaimed showcase of Bali’s most promising artists and its established masters.

Lekung Sugantika’s exhibition from 2-29 May is the third in a series of eight monthly exhibitions scheduled this year at Conrad Bali’s acclaimed new addition, Living Lobby Art Exhibit in East. The series celebrates the 10th anniversary of the resort’s ability to connect guests to authentic Bali experiences.

Conrad Bali general manager Jean-Sébastien Kling said, “It was a long-held dream of Conrad Bali to deliver an organic space for the new and entrenched crops of outstanding Balinese artists. Our collaboration with the vibrant local art community compliments and enhances the resort’s visionunnamed (28) of providing guests with a genuine insight into the creativity, history and heritage of this remarkable island.”

Lekung is a prolific and award-winning artist who began exhibiting two decades ago and has since travelled the country staging important exhibitions. He is known for his spontaneity, fine art expression, playfulness and love of life, honing his impressive skills through experimentation in a wide variety of mediums.

He has been described as an art gambler due to the complexity of his work. He is unflinching in his commitment to staying his own course and producing pieces that captivate texturally and chromatically.

Lekung said, “My ultimate collection, ‘Intimate Bali’, is the result of my work painting, sculpting, writing, building installations and, in a very real sense, conducting performances. It’s all about positive energy and honesty.”

Lekung’s exhibition follows hugely popular shows by Balinese sculpture I Wayan Jana and multimedia artist I Nyoman Suarnata.
