Construction began today on the new $50 million development of Quest Serviced Apartments and Cinqué Residential Apartments in Kelvin Grove and was marked by an official sod turning ceremony.

Kelvin Grove Sod Turning CeremonyOn site for the event were Lord Mayor Graham Quirk from the Brisbane City Council, Robert Cavallucci MP from the Queensland Parliament, and General Manager of Locations for Quest Serviced Apartments, Andrew Weisz. Ben McCarthy and Brad Beh from EkkoPoint Properties, the project developer, were also in attendance.

Lord Mayor Quirk said the development would be a welcome addition to Kelvin Grove Urban Village, a sustainable, mixed-use community that brings together urban living, education, retail, health, recreation and business on the fringe of Brisbane’s CBD.

“We are pleased to celebrate this momentous occasion in the growth of the Village and we warmly welcome Quest Serviced Apartments as an important contributor to this thriving community,” said Lord Mayor Quirk.

“The Kelvin Grove property will deliver considerable benefits to the surrounding suburbs through job creation and a quality accommodation offer for extended stay business travellers.”

Living-811“In addition, we welcome the Cinqué private apartments which will coexist with Quest, occupying the top floors of the building and enjoying expansive views of the beautiful Brisbane CBD,” added the Lord Mayor.

The Quest and Cinqué property will be located at 41 Ramsgate Street in Kelvin Grove and is expected to open in June 2015. Quest Kelvin Grove will feature 85 apartments comprising of studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments. On site will be a car park, conference room, gym, swimming pool and barbecue area.

Kelvin Grove is approximately 3km north of the Brisbane CBD, with the property located within 900m of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and immediately adjacent to the Kelvin Grove Campus of the Queensland University of Technology. The Urban Village boasts a number of cafes, restaurants, shops, services and entertainment options, including the iconic La Boite Roundhouse Theatre.

ALobby-1127ndrew Weisz from Quest Serviced Apartments said the Kelvin Grove development reflected the company’s growth strategy and he was delighted that Quest would be a part of the Urban Village community.

“Quest is dedicated to providing corporate travellers with flexible, quality accommodation in locations with high demand and strong growth potential,” said Mr Weisz.

“Kelvin Grove is fast becoming one of Brisbane’s most desirable suburbs with significant development across commercial, educational and recreational facilities – an ideal location for Quest.”

Priced from $345,000, the 46 apartments of the Cinqué residential complex atop Quest Kelvin Grove will feature private one bedroom and two bedroom apartments, in addition to unique rooftop two-level loft apartments.

Brad Beh, General Manager of EkkoPoint Properties said Cinqué’s unique feature is that 40 of the 46 apartments are on Level 7 or above providing fantastic city views for even the lowest priced apartments.

“As all apartments are above Level 6 with excellent views across the city, the average price of $369,000 for one bedroom and $524,000 for two bedroom apartments means the Cinqué complex is uniquely affordable.” Mr Beh said.

“As construction has commenced and there are only 30 apartments still available for sale, we expect to sell out remaining stock soon after the on-site Sales Display formally opens next week.”
