Cook Islands Tourism Corporation is thrilled to welcome Sydney’s ‘Mr Sunshine and Blue Skies’ weatherman, Tim Bailey, as its first Australian ambassador effective 1 November 2015.
Celebrating his 25th year at Network TEN in 2016, Tim is one of Australia’s most recognisable personalities best known from his 18 years presenting the weather on TEN Eyewitness News. He’s been a Totally Wild and Good Morning Australia presenter and a reporter for TEN at major sporting events including the Commonwealth Games. Tim also has a long association with top rating radio show, 2Day FM, and is a regular guest on Triple M and 2UE.
Expect to encounter the effervescent Tim at Flight Centre and Cook Islands Tourism roadshows sharing his love of the islands, which he has visited many times over the past seven years. He will be sharing his visitor tips in media interviews and plans to have a few surprises instore for 2016.
Tim is passionate about introducing more of his NSW and ACT audience to the Cook Islands and drawing attention to the direct flight from Sydney to Rarotonga – which, also being a copywriter, he has taglined “Sydney’s Saturday plane to paradise’’.
“We’re delighted to welcome Tim on board to drive incremental growth from our key NSW target market,” says Cook Islands Tourism General Manager Australia Kerryn Cook. “His enthusiasm and love for the Cook Islands is infectious and we know he’ll get people excited to follow in his footsteps.”
