Racing starts at the Wallaroo Lions Clubrooms, Wallaroo/Moonta Road at 1.00pm on Saturday. The Dunes Criterium commences at 9.00am on Sunday and the Victoria Square Criterium at 1.00pm on the same day.

The Dunes at Port Hughes and the Royal Exchange Hotel are strong supporters of this years event.

Euride Racing SA Elite and the Veneziano Blefari Cycling Team, who have raced in this years National Road Series in events across Australia have added the Hell of the North to their race schedules.

Last year winners, international riders, and world champions are on the teams lists, including Harry Carpenter, Cameron Bayley, Rohan Denis, Damien Howson, Callum Scotson and Alex Edmondson

Cycling South Australia’s partnership with Renewal SA’s Bowden Development continues to build pathways for the best of South Australia’s elite male riders. Information on riders and their teams is available on the Cycling SA website

Copper Coast mayor Paul Thomas commented that, “Cycling has become very popular over the last few years in the Copper Coast and we have a very energetic group of younger riders who several times a week are out and about on their bikes, and we also see the leisure riders. Hopefully, the Hell of the North will attract some of our local enthusiasts to compete, but otherwise there is the invitation to be involved as a spectator (as I will)!

The Copper Coast prides itself as being a “lifestyle location of choice”, our recreation and leisure activities are a great part of what attracts people to live or visit the Copper Coast. Cycling is another exciting activity that has become part of our community!

We ask all road users to be aware that there will be extra cyclists on the Copper Coast roads and to give them room to compete safely.
