CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been selected as preferred proponent to deliver Auckland Airport’s international taxiway and remote stands project, a critical component in the facility’s major capital works program.
The contract will generate revenue to CPB Contractors of approximately NZ$200 million, which will be confirmed at contract execution.
Works include construction of an additional taxiway, extension of an existing taxiway and six remote stands with in-ground jet fuel reticulation, to expand existing aeronautical infrastructure for New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport.

CPB Contractors Managing Director Juan Santamaria said: “We look forward to building a close ongoing relationship with Auckland Airport and to delivering this important infrastructure project efficiently and to the highest safety standards.”
Works include more than 1 million cubic metres of earthworks and basecourse, 168,000 square metres of concrete pavement, construction of 3.2 kilometres of stormwater drainage, runoff and treatment lagoon, and as well as a 2.2 kilometres in-ground jet fuel network.
Construction is scheduled to commence mid this year, with expected completion by late 2021.
