The Dorchester in the heart of Mayfair offers instruction with local artist Jane McAdam Freud, celebrated contemporary artist and great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud. The culinary arts will be on display – and on the palate – as well, with picnic baskets artfully curated by a nutritionist including distinctive and delectable treats inspired by the hotel’s collection of works by top British artists. The hotel’s Media Room is a splendid backdrop for creative meetings, with room for up to 12 participants, cocktail parties, meetings, and screenings on state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen equipment – including a 103-inch 3-D television with surround-sound system and 3-D glasses. At Coworth Park, Dorchester Collection’s 70-room country house hotel in Ascot, active and adventurous guests can engage in a variety of truly entertaining outdoor experiences. Duck Herding is offered for groups of all sizes and begins after guests are given a brief history and introduction of the sport. They are then paired with highly trained Welsh collies to work together and guide lively gangs of Indian runner ducks through an easy obstacle course. Refreshments and light snacks are served after the event. Guests can also take part in the hotel’s Intelligent Wellness program, offering several choices of pulse-heightening sporting activities where the degree of difficulty and rewards can be customized to client preferences. Participate in cycling adventures around the hotel grounds and to nearby Virginia Water; hone backspins and serves at a tennis clinic with instruction and guidance from an experienced LTA qualified coach; and join a competitive archery event. Additional options include guided walking, running or jogging; football (aka, soccer); a croquet clinic; exercise classes; and yoga and/or Pilates. The most dazzling dinner theatre in Paris is on the menu at the candlelit Salon Pompadour of Le Meurice. At the 109-room luxury lakeside hotel, Le Richemond, will take your team higher with customized aeronautical excursions. Strap into a two-seat Cap 10 for an Introduction to Aerial Acrobatics, with Immelmann turns, loops and other head-spinning maneuvers high in the wild blue yonder (1.5 hours with 30 minute flight, CHF 365/approx. $385).  Slip into a Piper Super Cub and enjoy an Escapade on Glaciers following the flight path of legendary Swiss search-and-rescue pilot Hermann Geiger, who pioneered the art of landing on glaciers in the Alps. (2.5 hours with 1.25-hour flight; winter only, includes one glacier landing; CHF 580/approx. $610). Or Fly over the Alps for bird’s-eye views of the prettiest peaks in Switzerland and the beauty that lies in between. (Two hours with a one-hour flight, CHF 520/approx. $550.)  Available for one to three passengers, rates are per plane.


Hunt for the “diamonds of the kitchen” in Italy’s picturesque northern region of Piedmont during your stay at Milan’s exclusive 301-room Hotel Principe di Savoia with the Truffle Hunting Adventure. Embarking north to Piedmont, participants will unearth exotically scented tubers with the help of trained truffle-hunting dogs near the village of Alba, famed for white truffles. Explore the medieval castle of Roddi and cap the excursion with a three-course, truffle-themed lunch. The package offers buffet breakfast, round-trip transfer to Alba in a Class E Mercedes, a morning truffle hunt, lunch at Osteria dell ’Arco, and an afternoon tour of the Alba Truffle Fair.  Still hungry? The Beverly Hills Hotel is treating guests with a customized visit to a luxury estate and winery in Malibu including helicopter landings, private tours and tastings for lunch or dinner. The 208-room property is offering an unforgettable outing which can be personalized according to the adventurous spirit of participants, with transportation available for up to 40 attendees arriving in eight helicopters. Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards has steeply terraced grounds that have played backdrop for popular television programs and films. (From $7,000 to $50,000, depending on client preference.) 


Spice up meetings and events at Hotel Bel-Air, offering 103 guest rooms, with how-to Wine & Culinary classes instructed by Wolfgang Puck’s team at his signature restaurant, Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air and the popular Bar at Hotel Bel-Air.  The cooking classes are presented in a fun, informative format, and feature delicious dishes made with California’s fresh ingredients and local farmers’ markets. Classes range from “How to Make Pasta from Scratch” to “Quick-Fire Class: The Perfect Omelette.”  Participants will enjoy a tour of the kitchen, a glass of Champagne, and an intimate sit down dinner to sample their culinary creations.
