Matched by superb cuisine prepared by the popular restaurant’s chefs Matt Smidge will reveal the story about his wine-making journey. Smidge Wines will be matched with superb cuisine at elk restauran’s winemakers dinner on August 27. The cost will be $80 per person.
Matt Smidge has had a remarkable career to-date including completing vintages in France, California, Hunter Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.
Amongst SA wine country achievements (apart from his current role at Smidge Wines) was a stint with Two Hands Wines, He began in 2002 as the Two Hands Winemaker and was an integral part of their success and growth. Also in 2002, Matt produced the first Smidge wine.
After 11 years Matt resigned from Two Hands Wines to spend more time with family and pursue Smidge Wines in a fulltime capacity. It will be his second visit to Falls Creek because his brother owns an apartment in the heart of the alpine resort.
