Croisieurope Launches Exciting New Itineraries For 2014/2015

The Loire

In April 2015, CroisiEurope will become the first river cruise operator to offer overnight cruises on the beautiful Loire. Between April and October, the MS Loire Princesse will operate six- and eight-day cruises along the Loire round-trip from Nantes visiting areas rich in cultural heritage such as Saint Nazaire, Ancenis, Angers, the Chateaux of the Loire Valley, Saumur and Bouchemaine.

The cruises will take place on the 96-guest MS Loire Princesse whose innovative paddle wheel technology will allow it to navigate the shallow waters of this iconic river. Prices start from £1,001 per person for accommodation in an outside cabin with all onboard meals, complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner as well as open bar throughout the voyage (not including Champagne, special wines or fine brandies), onboard entertainment and port taxes.

Athens-Istanbul

CroisiEurope is introducing a brand new “Culture & Cruise” themed Athens-Istanbul itinerary for winter 2014/15 onboard the 200-guest MS Belle de l’Adriatique. Between November 2014 and March 2015 the ship will offer an eight-day cruise on the Aegean and Marmara Seas, exploring the incredibly rich culture and heritage of this region. Starting in Athens, the cruise will take in Patmos, Kusadasi and Pergamon before finishing in Istanbul. Highlights will include the Acropolis, Cape Sounion and the Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits. There will be a choice of fascinating excursions available such as the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian in Patmos, the ancient Greek ruins of Ephesus and Pergamon and the Basilica Cistern, Galata Tower, Grand Bazaar and Spice Market in Istanbul. Onboard, a guest lecturer will enhance the guest experience by giving talks about the destinations visited and placing them within historical context. Prices for this eight-day cruise start from £926 per person for accommodation in an outside cabin with all onboard meals, complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner as well as open bar throughout the voyage (not including Champagne, special wines or fine brandies), onboard entertainment and port taxes.

Berlin With A Difference

In May 2015, CroisiEurope is introducing a six-day Rhine cruise round-trip from Berlin allowing guests to discover the surprising blend of the Middle Ages and modern living that this region has to offer. Available on the MS Mona Lisa and the MS Victor Hugo, the cruise visits Potsdam and Kleinmachnow, with optional visits to Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam, Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, the former village of Köpenick and its castle, the Documentation Centre at the Berlin War Memorial and Berlin Botanical Garden. Prices start from £770 per person for accommodation in an outside cabin with all onboard meals, complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner as well as open bar throughout the voyage (not including Champagne, special wines or fine brandies), onboard entertainment and port taxes.

World War 1

In 2015, CroisiEurope is introducing two brand new itineraries that have been created specifically to honour the centenary of the outbreak of World War I. CroisiEurope is just one of a handful of river cruise operators whose ships are able to navigate many of the regions included in these commemorative journeys which combine many of the war’s most fated locations, along with insightful excursions to deliver experiences that are both historically accurate and respectful.

  • A seven-day cruise between Ostend and Lille visiting Comines, Kortrijk and Bruges. Highlights include a trip to Diksmuide, the scene of bloody confrontations during WW1, including a visit to the Trench of Death – one of the most dangerous Belgian positions on the Western Front; a stop at the German cemetery of Vaslo and a visit to Europe’s largest peace memorial, the 84-metre-high Yser Tower; a day in Kortrijk including a visit to the British War Cemetery in Tyne Cot, the largest of its kind in continental Europe; a visit to thePasschendaele Museum and the Flanders Fields Museum;  a ‘Last Post’ ceremony representing the final  farewell to the dead; a trip to Poperingen, one of the only towns not occupied by the Germans; the military cemetery and hospital at Lijssenthoek; Arras and Wellington Quarry – an enormous underground network created to keep the troops together during the build up to the Allied offensive. The cruise on the MS Victor Hugo departs 10th September 2015 with the reverse itinerary departing 16th September 2015. Prices start from £1,075 per person including all onboard meals, complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner as well as open bar throughout the voyage (not including Champagne, special wines or fine brandies), all excursions, onboard entertainment and port taxes.
  • A seven-day cruise along the Marne Canal from Paris to Chalons-en-Champagne onboard the 24-guest MS Raymonde visiting Lagny-Sur-Marne, Meaux, Saint Jean Les Deux Jumeaux, Chateau Thierry, Dormans and Epernay. Highlights include the Battlefields of the Marne; the Museum of the Great War with over 50,000 objects and documents to peruse; the Remembrance Museum of Belleau; the Aisne-Marne Cemetery where 2,289 soldiers who fell during fighting in the summer of 1918 are buried; Fort Douaumont, the largest of 19 defensive forts protecting the city of Verdun which was abandoned by the French in 1915; Douaumont Ossuary where the bodies of 130,000 unidentified soldiers from each side are at rest together; and a visit to the Tranchée des Baïonnettes (Bayonet Trench), a monument financed by the American George Rand in honour of the 137th Infantry Regiment. Also included is a tour of the Champagne Tourist Route and a guided tour of Paris. There are two departures on 28th May and 8th July 2015 with prices from £1,653 per person including all onboard meals, complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner as well as open bar throughout the voyage (not including Champagne, special wines or fine brandies), all excursions, onboard entertainment and port taxes.
