The Hunter Valley received the best possible news for its post-storms recovery with the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley being named Australia’sBest Meeting Venue – Under 500 Delegates in the prestigious MEA (Meetings Events Australia) Awards.
The award was announced last night at a Gala Dinner in Hamilton Island, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, which is managed by IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), was recognised for being industry leaders in catering for business events under 500 delegates.
Robert Coates, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley said he was thrilled with the win as it highlighted the Resort’s excellence in event management and commitment to business events in Australia.
“It’s been a very exciting time ramping up to the opening the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre in January 2015. We have seen huge demand for business events, as many companies are drawn to the tailored service, state of the art audio visual and the integrated conference and resort facilities. In addition, the Resort’s location in the renowned wine country region is perfectly situated to inspire delegates and ensure a successful event.”
Accepting the award on the team’s behalf, Belinda Harvy, Business Development Manager for Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley said “We are excited and honoured to receive this award which is a reflection of our dedicated team of meeting and events experts and their passion to create customised event solutions for a range of conference and event needs”.
Miss Harvy also thanked the Resort’s owners, The Schwartz Family Company (SFC), for their ongoing investment and support, to ensure the long term sustainability of the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley’s Conference & Events business. Recently SFC invested more than $6m to build the new Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre as well as extensive upgrades to its leisure and spa facilities.
The Resort’s services and facilities have been praised by the organisers of the recent Rotary Conference which took place in March 2015. Jennifer Scott, Chairman of the 2015 Annual Rotary Conference said “the venue and location set the scene to inspire, motivate and re-energise delegates which was a key objective of the conference”.
