In February 2020, treat yourself to the sights of Singapore, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka with Ecruising’s 27-night Journey through Sri Lanka and Beyond.
Departing on 14 February, guests will spend two nights in Singapore at the Hotel Jen Tanglin by Shangri La, before boarding the Celebrity Constellation cruise on 16 February.
The 16 days/15 nights at sea encompasses a number of day tours including the opportunity to experience the famous blue waters of Phuket, Thailand and the history and heritage of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Guests will then sail into India where they will visit numerous cities. The itinerary includes a stop at the charming coastal city of Cochin, followed by the magical state of Goa to indulge in local cuisine and explore world-heritage architecture. Then an overnight stopover will be made in India’s largest city, Mumbai, known for the Bollywood industry, street markets and high-end malls.
On 29 February, Celebrity Constellation will cruise into Muscat, Oman, which is known for dazzling souks, incredible cuisine and scenic views of desert terrains. On 2 March, guests will disembark the ship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where they will spend two nights at the Raffles Dubai Hotel.
From here, they will fly into Colombo, Sri Lanka, to spend nine days journeying across the country and ticking off the bucket list. The first day includes visits to Pinnawala, Dambulla and Habarana where they will visit elephant orphanages and UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Dambulla Cave Temple and Golden Buddha Temple.
Over the next leg of the journey, guests will enjoy immersive short excursions into the heart of villages, experiencing traditional bullock cart and boat rides before arriving to a delicious cooking demonstration with a local family.
The tour continues with even more unforgettable sightseeing adventures including spectacular wildlife spotting on a Game Drive at Minneriya National Park, a visit to the ever-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a sightseeing tour of Gregory Lake and visits to the Makandawa Forest Reserve. Travellers also have the opportunity to explore the source and process of tea making at Nuwara Eliya tea plantation.
