Cunard unveils plans to base Queen Elizabeth in Australia in 2019

February 28, 2017 Cruise No Comments Email Email

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the cruise bubble to burst in Australia – much to the delight of major operators constantly pumping out more capacity, Down Under is clearly the place to be. The latest bonus for Australians looking for more luxury is the news that Cunard will base its popular liner Queen Elizabeth in Australia for a record two months.

The 90,900-tonne Queen Elizabeth will offer seven different cruises to New Zealand, South Australia and Tasmania from Sydney and Melbourne between February and April 2019 – the longest deployment Down Under for any of Cunard’s current fleet of Queens.
The cruises are a major highlight of Cunard’s 2019 world voyage program, which will be released in Australia on March 14 and go on sale on March 30, 2017.
