CWT renews strategic alliance with TravelSky in China Extension of strategic alliance reaffirms CWT’s commitment to world’s second largest business travel market

Since 2003, TravelSky and CWT China have collaborated closely to develop technology solutions for corporate travel in China, and TravelSky has provided CWT with a number of advanced technology products and services. These include customer-facing products such as an online booking tool, CWT Online (powered by TravelSky), as well as back-end systems to manage client profiles, store corporate travel policies, implement travel approvals and collect travel data. The renewed strategic alliance will help CWT maintain its leadership position in China, especially in the areas of online booking and mobile application solutions.

 In 2006, CWT China launched CWT Online, an online booking tool powered by TravelSky and used by CWT’s clients to book domestic travel. CWT Online was updated in 2012 to allow international bookings, making it the first China-specific online booking tool to incorporate this functionality. 

In 2013, CWT also became the first travel management company to launch a smartphone app version of an online booking tool in China.  The app gives travelers access to a wide range of in-country mobile services at their fingertips, including booking, itinerary, changes in travel schedules and location-based information. It also has a built in approval process to help travel managers ensure that their travelers only make bookings within their company’s travel policy. The continued strategic alliance with TravelSky will give CWT the opportunity to further enhance the app’s functionality in the near future. 

To date, CWT Online has achieved market-leading adoption rates, with over 100,000 bookings being made by travelers using the mobile app in 2015. Complementing CWT Online, CWT also uses TravelSky’s Breeze platform, previously called BlueSky, a computer reservation system (CRS) designed for travel consultants.
