Dean Brazier joins CMV Australia as new Managing Director

Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Brazier as the new Managing Director of CMV Australia.

This appointment follows the resignation of Grant Hunter who, along with his wife Susanne, has decided to step down to pursue a new career opportunity overseas.

Christian Verhounig, Chairman and CEO of the worldwide CMV Travel & Leisure Group, commented, “Dean Brazier joins CMVfollowing nine hugely successful years with Phil Hoffmann Travel as Head of Special Projects.Previously he owned and managed Driveline Europe in the UK.

This business was successfully sold after 17 years and Dean fulfilled his dream of living in Australia.


“CMV is a maturing brand and the Australasian market has become a very important part of the CMV worldwide programme.It will be very much business as usual. Astor, as the local ship, is a great product and has built up a growing number of loyal followers. We are currently finalising the launch of the Astor 2018-19 season with a range of popular and interesting itineraries.

We firmly believe that there is potential to further expand our presence in the growing Australasian cruise market as we enter an exciting new phase in our development.”

Our aim is to grow the business and foster closer ties with the Australian travel trade who have pro-actively supported us since the launch of Astor’s 13,000 capacity programme in 2013.”

CMV operates five ocean ships; carries 130,000 passengers; has offices also in the UK, Germany, Greece and the USA; employs 4000 crew and shore side staff; and has a group turnover exceeding AUD$350m.
