Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) is partnering with Virgin Australia and Tourism Australia and has started the first joint marketing campaign in the U.S. to encourage Americans to visit Australia now, not “someday.”

The “Someday” campaign offers participants the chance to win 52 trips to Australia through April 21, 2014. Through a designated campaign site, AustraliaSomeday.com, US residents are invited to enter the contest by choosing from 52 signature weeklong trips featuring the best experiences and events in Australia. Each trip package comes complete with a week of hotel accommodation, and roundtrip airfare for two on Delta and Virgin Australia. Further details on the campaign, including terms and conditions, are available at AustraliaSomeday.com

“With Delta’s unparalleled domestic network in the U.S., we can bring more U.S. travelers to Australia via our gateway in Los Angeles,” said Vinay Dube, Delta’s senior vice president – Asia Pacific. “This is a significant milestone for our partnership with Virgin Australia and shows how closely we are working together to increase inbound travel to Australia.”

Through the trans-Pacific joint venture, passengers can connect seamlessly between Delta and Virgin Australia’s three daily flights from Delta’s international gateway in Los Angeles to Australia’s three largest cities – Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane – and then continue onto Virgin Australia’s comprehensive network of more than 47 destinations across Australia. Members of both Delta SkyMiles, and Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program can earn reciprocal rewards and recognition throughout the journey.

A multimedia advertising promotion through print, TV, social media and billboards at Los Angeles Airport will be deployed in the U.S. aiming at promoting the campaign through the campaign period.

Delta Air Lines operates a daily non-stop flight between Sydney and Los Angeles and has formed a joint venture with Virgin Australia. Together Delta and Virgin Australia serve more than 170 million customers each year with a broad network of destinations to meet the needs of busy corporate travelers. Through this transpacific partnership, Delta customers benefit from a comprehensive, fully integrated network with thousands of destinations in North America and Australia and New Zealand. The Sydney – Los Angeles flight is operated with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, featuring full-flat bed seats with direct aisle access in the BusinessElite cabin, Economy Comfort section with more recline and legroom and audio video on demand on all Economy seats, with an extensive library of movies, TV shows, music and games.
