unnamed (5)Ancient Temple of Literature in Hanoi Provides a Series of Exceptional Event Spaces

One of the oldest sights in Hanoi is the Temple of Literature, called Van Mieu in Vietnamese. The ‘temple’ was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong and is dedicated to the Chinese philosopher Confucius. The long and narrow complex consists of a sequence of five courtyards divided by walls. As delegates arrive, the temple is lit with soft lighting to create a welcoming environment. They are greeted by the sounds of festival drums with ladies in traditional ao dai who escort the group up the stairs (lit by torches and candles), and through to the main courtyard. Ideal for medium sized groups of between 60-250 people, the various sized courtyards can each be adapted to suit any requirement. The spaces are equally suited for gala or award dinners with traditional entertainment available.

The Temple of Literature is one of Destination Asia Vietnam’s favored venues due to the prestige, we are also the only DMC that has access now due to our long standing and trusted relationship with the director of the venue.

Australian Medical Professionals Travel to Myanmar to Work Within the Local Community

Group Size: 100 people
Venue: Burma (Yangon-Mandalay-Bagan-Inle Lake)

Brief and Challenges:
The brief received from the client was to ‘see the world of Burma through the eyes of a medical professional’. The group also requested to visit local medical clinics in Inle Lake and Bagan. There is a lot of official red-tape in Burma regarding any kinds of special requests that include government bodies such as hospitals, universities, schools etc. Destination Asia Burma/Myanmar worked many months in advance and were successful in organizing the appropriate permissions for this group to access these medical facilities. Arrangements were made with a local optician in Bagan who, following a generous donation were able to take prescriptions and supply 100 pairs of glasses for young orphans from Zaytawun Monastery Orphanage.

The group also chartered the luxurious Belmond Road to Mandalay river cruise ship, sailing between Mandalay and the ancient capital city of Bagan. On visiting Inle Lake, delegates participated in a number of incentive activities, including volunteer work at a local medical clinic.

The client was particularly appreciative of all the additional extra touches made by Destination Asia and the exceptional attention to detail.

Nationwide CSR Projects in Thailand that Give Back

Destination Asia Thailand can make the necessary arrangements for groups of any size to make donations of goods to local schools, arranging the purchase of useful items such as computers, tables and stationery. This can be run in connection with the Foundation of Rural Youth (FRY) if the client would like to get more hands-on. Together with Destination Asia, groups can assist FRY in delivering boxed lunches they have personally helped the foundation prepare. These are then delivered to schools where dietary problems are an issue.

Destination Asia Thailand can also assist delegates who wish to make in-kind or cash donations, ensuring 100% goes to those who need it most as we cover all administration costs through our ‘Giving Back’ initiative. As Destination Asia Thailand are involved in numerous projects nationwide, it is possible to arrange CSR focused activities in areas across the country.

Adrenalin-Fuelled Dragon Boat Racing in Singapore

Destination Asia Singapore can organize the traditional ‘Riding The Dragon in the Lion City’. On the day, participants are divided into respective teams of 10 or 20 and the entire gathering is further divided into two halves. The first half will undergo their dragon boating drill as well as qualifying rounds, while the second half remain onshore to learn about tying and steaming bamboo-leaf wrapped meat dumplings. This is a Chinese delicacy closely linked with the Dragon Boat Festival.

A dragon boat is a human-powered boat traditionally made of teak wood. The activity starts from the rustic shores of Kallang River, paddling the boats out across the waters of nearby Marina Bay. Here participants can enjoy stunning views of modern Singapore, including the iconic Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands – the ideal location for a memorable group photo opportunity! At half-time, the two halves will then swap activities. The adrenaline action culminates with the finals race at the end to determine the top three teams. A medal prize-giving ceremony, celebratory drinks and plenty of camaraderie concludes this fun and exciting group activity in the Lion City.
