Chair of Destination Tweed, Aymon Gow, has announced the appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors – Jamie Nicol, Regional Airports Manager for Virgin Australia and Kylie Ryan-Milroy, Director at Atlas Currency Exchange.
Aymon said he and the Board were pleased to welcome the two highly skilled local business identities and looked forward to their assistance in driving Destination Tweed’s strategic vision over the next three years.
“Kylie Ryan-Milroy’s wealth of knowledge in financial management will be a great addition to the current Board’s skills base.
“Tourism in the region, especially international visitor numbers, continues to grow and expand, and Kylie’s input and advice will be invaluable in strategic planning into the future,” said Aymon.
“As Regional Airports Manager for Virgin Australia, Jamie’s leadership skills, expertise in strategic project and operational management, combined with his background in Human Resources management, make him an excellent addition to the board.”
Jamie Nicol, who recently relocated to the Tweed with his family, is a seasoned hospitality, travel and tourism executive with an international career spanning over twenty years. In his current role with Virgin Australia, he oversees the daily operations at nine airports in Queensland and New South Wales.
As a qualified human resources professional, Jamie has led the design and delivery of complex change initiatives that achieved significant performance improvements and major cultural shifts.
Kylie Ryan-Milroy has extensive foreign exchange experience in retail, wholesale and commercial contracts and is the Licensee of Australia’s first Non-Bank Australian Financial Services Licence authorised to provide International Money Transfers (IMTs), Global Travel Cards and Foreign Currency Notes.
Kylie’s company, Atlas Currency Exchange, has been involved in the local currency market via both the tourism and trade sectors, assisting clients and tourists with their foreign exchange requirements.
Jamie Nicol and Kylie Ryan-Milroy will join Destination Tweed’s voluntary Board of Directors which includes Chair, Aymon Gow, General Manager at Tropical Fruit World; Deputy Chair Charles Martin, General Manager Aviation, Gold Coast Airport Ltd; Treasurer Belinda Hall, Business Manager Corporate Services, NORTEC; and directors Darren Wright, General Manager Flight Centre Australia; Tim Jack Adams, Owner, Water Sports Guru & GreenX and Cr Katie Milne, Mayor -Tweed Shire Council.
