DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, today revealed its second “T in Art” installation at its two TGalleria by DFS locations in Macau, celebrating the arrival of the Group’s new downtown brand to Shoppes at the Four Seasons and The Shops at The Boulevard, City of Dreams.

Comprising enormous “T”-shaped sculptures inspired by the T Galleria brand logo, as with the initial Hong Kong exhibition, ”T in Art” in Macau showcases work by tastemakers from across the region, including Zhu Fangqiong, independent musician; Della Chuang, master fragrance designer; Linda, model & television host; Zhang Linpeng, star football player; and Philip Ho, gourmet chef. The installation will remain on display until the end of February 2014.

A journey through the senses

“These ‘T’ sculptures will not only enhance the exciting retail environments at both Galleria Macau locations, but will also provide our loyal travelling customers with a unique experience as they explore our carefully-curated offer,” said Benjamin Vuchot, Region President, North Asia.  “The talented individuals who designed these sculptures have blended their personal passions with expressions of each of the five senses, inviting our customers to embark on a new, inspiring journey of discovery at Galleria Macau.”

Musician Zhu Fangqiong’s “Music of Macau” combines local sights and sounds recorded from the streets of Macau, revealing the rhythms and pulses of the culturally rich city. “Wishing Away” by fragrance designer Della Chuang, on the other hand, features traditional ceramic flowers, whose petals emit a custom-made fragrance capturing the scent and spirit of life’s fleeting beauty. With “Fashion Paradise,” model Linda uses iconic Parisian landmarks and vintage fashion plates to produce a vivid interpretation of the sense of sight. “Racing Spirit,” meanwhile, takes on the sense of touch with patterns inspired by football player Zhang Linpeng’s tattoos and passion for football. Chef Philip Ho’s “Culinary Adventures” displays a graphical melange of eyes and lips to evoke the experience of taste.

T Galleria by DFS arrives in Macau

In late October 2013, DFS inaugurated the “T in Art” campaign when it installed the T Galleria by DFS brand to its three downtown stores in Hong Kong. The exhibition continued throughout November along Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars, featuring designs by quintessential Hong Kong artists and entrepreneurs, and creating a novel platform for tourism in the city.

This latest iteration of “T in Art” in Macau celebrates the installation of Galleria by DFS in the city at the end of last year. Galleria Macau is the world traveller’s preferred destination for luxury shopping, representing the ultimate evolution in luxury travel retail. With elegant and inviting locations at Shoppes at Four Seasons and The Shops at The Boulevard, City of Dreams, Galleria Macau delivers seamless shopping experiences tailored to the lifestyle of world travellers, serving as shopping havens for more than nine million visitors a year. Galleria now offers world travellers in Macau an expertly-curated assortment of products and services across the four key categories of luxury: beauty & fragrances, fashion & accessories, watches & jewellery, and wine & spirits.

“Today, our Galleria’s are luxury retail destinations unto themselves,” said Mr Philippe Schaus, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DFS Group. “Quite simply, T stands for travel, and our new Galleria is made for the traveller. We could not be more excited to continue down this path as we never stop perfecting our offerings for travellers everywhere.”

From January 31 to February 23, 2014, visitors posting photos of the “T in Art” installation to Sina Weibo will have the chance to win a grand prize worth MOP 30,000, including a MOP 20,000 gift certificate to spend at Galleria Macau, as well as exclusive personal shopper service, private limousine service, personalised beauty consultations and make-over services.
