As part of its approach to Corporate Responsibility, Hilton Athenstakes the initiative to actively contribute by donating one freshly baked bread basket for every bread basket served in any of the hotel’s restaurants.
The non-profit organization, “Boroume”, whose mission is to reduce food waste and to prevent malnutrition in Greece, assists in our current cooperation with the local non-governmental organization “Nostos”. This NGO focuses on social integration, battling against social exclusion and unemployment.
In cooperation with a local traditional bakery “Pnyka” the hotel offers, “Nostos”, freshly baked bread baskets daily. Hilton Athens is committed to supporting its local community and protecting the environment throughout the year. In line with its commitment to reduce waste, the hotel has been recovering and recycling all used soap bars since 2015. The soap is donated to people in need, helping to drive hygiene in the local community. In May, the hotel opened its doors to 90 young people to raise awareness about hospitality as a career and provide young people with prospects of employment. The hotel is also proud to have received the International Environmental Green Key 2017 for its efforts to manage energy, water and waste. This complements the certifications for ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 50001 (energy management) that all Hilton properties bear thanks to the use of LightStay, our proprietary social and environmental management platform.
