On March 21, 150 countries will participate in the fourth annual Gout de France/Good France, a celebration of French gastronomy.

An event organised by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and chef Alain Ducasse

An initiative of Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs together with renowned chef Alain Ducasse, the event aims to unite chefs around the world to celebrate the vitality of French cuisine and the value of sharing a meal.

“Goût de/Good France is where two passions meet: the passion of those who cook and the passion of those who love great cuisine,” Ducasse said. “The former offer their expertise and generosity. The latter bring their curiosity and fellowship to the table. Together, they make Goût de/Good France a unique event: a joyous celebration of the vitality of French cuisine.”

In its fourth consecutive year, 3,300 chefs will be participating globally, up from 2,100 in 2017. Of these, 1,300 are in France.

This year, Goût de/Good France will focus on wine, reflecting a key theme of French tourism. Each year, France receives 10 million wine tourists, generating over €5.2 billion of revenue.

“Building on this theme, our embassies will mobilise chefs, sommeliers, apprentices and producers from all fields to celebrate French gastronomy, which has been classified as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2010,” Minister Le Drian said.

Among the more than 3,000 chefs, 11 Australian restaurants have been selected by the international committee to participate. Scattered around the country, Good France provides the perfect opportunity for Australians to experience the delights of French cuisine.
