Discover, Indulge & Socialise at Taste of Hong Kong 2017

With a generous offering of new interactive and engaging activities including cooking demonstrations, tastings, masterclasses, music and lounges, there is something for everyone at the second edition of Taste of Hong Kong presented by Standard Chartered. Coming off an incredibly successful inaugural event in 2016, the festival is 25% bigger with more to experiences to enjoy. Festival goers can discover, indulge and socialise from 16 to 19 March 2017 at Central Harbourfront.


Welcoming diverse culinary cultures, Taste of Hong Kong is perfect for the Hong Konger who enjoys food, discovering new ingredients and tasting new wine, spirits, beers and champagne.

Live cooking demonstrations: Guests can pick up handy tips and tricks of the trade from the likes of Chefs Richard Ekkebus of Amber, Shane Osborn of Arcane, Max Levy of Okra, Aaron Gillespie of 22 Ships, Lee Man Sing of Mott 32 and more. Taste Theatre in association with Food Network is open to all, and boasts a brand new line-up of 24 sessions that will feature Hong Kong’s much-loved chefs, hosted by Debbie Wong of Food Network. Be prepared to learn a few secret cooking techniques that will surely impress future dinner guests.

Hear directly from chefs and tastemakers: Visitors can hear personally from top chefs and influencers as they share their opinions and discuss current and future food and drink trends, offer tips on produce selection, debate restaurant industry issues and chat about who they believe are rising culinary stars, before welcoming questions from guests. The #TatlerTable discussion series hosted by Hong Kong Tatler features an eclectic mix culinary masters from the participating Taste restaurants and visiting chefs plus F&B influencers for a rare insight into the industry with 24 intimate and innovative culinary discussions.

First in Asia champagne tasting: Bubbles are the obvious aperitif to the ultimate dining experience at Taste of Hong Kong. The Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar will unveil the quintessence of its own style at Taste of Hong Kong 2017. This is the first time La Cuvée will be seen in Asia chilled and ready for oenophiles to enjoy with the finest Hong Kong cuisine, complemented by the brand’s new look. Discerning foodies will also be able to enjoy a unique gourmet journey discovering how to perfectly pair each wine with signature dishes from Taste of Hong Kong restaurants.


Eat your dream: Gourmands can create a dream menu with more than 50 of the most talked about dishes made by Hong Kong’s most celebrated restaurants: Amber, Arcane, Café Gray Deluxe, CHINO, Duddell’s, Kaum at Potato Head, Mercato, Okra, Rhoda, Tin Lung Heen, Tosca, Yardbird, ZUMA and more to be announced. The city’s top chefs have crafted premium signature tasting plates and iconic one-off festival creations, giving Hong Kongers something to be proud of.

Ingredients to talk about: Hong Kong diners are becoming more adventurous, so chefs at Taste of Hong Kong will be giving foodies the opportunity to satisfy their curiosity. Chefs have gone out of their way to include rare and interesting ingredients, such as Rhoda’s Tartare of ox heart, Kaum’s marinated eel, ZUMA’s Japanese hakkinton pork and Tosca’s octopus with Amalfitan lemon mayo to name a few.

Sip, sample and shop: The Gourmet Market features 60+ producers offering a range of premium food and beverages. Guests can venture out for cheese to pair with fine wine, mouth-watering chocolate to share with friends, deliciously naughty ice cream toppings and more. Additionally, the Foodie Market curated by Foodie is a one-stop shop that will showcase a collection of 15 hand-picked producers sampling and selling their wares. The Foodie team will conduct informal workshop sessions so visitors can get involved with what they are buying, learn about the passion that drives these producers, and what makes their products so special. With so many temptations, it’s impossible to leave empty handed.


Friends who eat together stay together: Spending a weekend with friends eating, drinking and lounging in a stunning alfresco environment, with the bright lights of the city and live music as a backdrop – what could be better?

Coffee, crafts and cocktails: Diners can sample dishes from all participating restaurants and grab a unique drink. Options include coffee masterclasses from our exclusive coffee partner illy, cold pressed juices from Bless, Michters Whiskey, G Wine Gin and cocktails from Brand Connect, or even natural wine at the La Cabane Wine & Cheese Bar. Paving the way for natural wine in the city, La Cabane will make discovering natural and biodynamic wines from France, Australia and New Zealand a fun affair when paired with French artisan cheese and accompanied by a special performance from MyHouse Resident DJ.

Going the extra mile: For those who know exactly what they want, the Deliveroo team will be delivering tasting plates direct to guests who order through the easy to use app.

The VIP experience: The Taste VIP Lounge is an exclusive area where VIP pass holders get a piece of prime Taste real estate. Not only will VIP visitors get to experience the amazing line-up of restaurants, chefs, producers and attractions, but they will also enjoy VIP privileges, including Fast Track entry, access to the VIP Lounge, HKD300 of Taste credit and three complimentary drinks.

The VIP experience continues: Presenting partner Standard Chartered will host its very own Priority Bank VIP Lounge for clients to experience Standard Chartered hospitality. Festival-goers need to present their Priority Banking Card or Priority Banking Credit Card at the lounge entry for access to the facility where they can take a rest and enjoy free-flow of red and white wine.

Limited Early Bird tickets are available until 31 January through Ticketflap. Tickets start at HKD108 on weekdays and HKD138 for weekend – saving over 30% on the door price. VIP passes priced at HKD548/HKD578 (weekday and weekend sessions respectively) are also available.

In addition, Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders are entitled to save up to 41% with exclusive early bird ticket prices from HKD98 when using Standard Chartered Credit Card to purchase.
