Discover new skills at the Health.com.au Women’s Ski Week

The Health.com.au Women’s Ski Week at Hotham Alpine Resort will launch on Monday 28 July. This program is specially designed with women in mind, giving participants the opportunity to hone their skills and technique with some of the country’s best female instructors.

The program focuses on giving women a customized experience to master their goals with the camaraderie of fellow participants.  It includes six hours of instruction a day including video, where participants get to pick the terrain and pacing of their choice.

According to Hotham Women’s Week Coordinator, Heidi Ettlinger, women benefit from customized instruction that gives them real tools for navigating different areas of the mountain. Improving skills often involves moving out of your comfort zone and taking risks, but in a less stressful environment, commented Ettlinger. Heidi is also a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, National Alpine Team.  She has coordinated and coached Hotham’s Women’s Week program for the past six years.

“Women can expect to get a travelling tool box of realistic tips which they can take with them throughout their own mountain travels. The camaraderie that builds during these events drives most women above and beyond what they originally thought they were capable of doing. Women realise they can have fun exploring the mountain rather than fearing they don’t have the skills to be adventurous” says Ettlinger.

The program is open to intermediate through expert level skiers and is taught in small groups. Also included in the program are a welcome breakfast and lunch on day one as well as a half hour massage at Hotham’s White Spa, and a celebratory evening of drinks and canapés on day four. For a detailed list of everything included in the program go to: http://www.mthotham.com.au/lessons-gear/clinics-programs/201161680947.asp

The program offers both a three and five day option and optional sessions on women’s equipment, ski alignment and tuning, fitness and pilates.

Price: $799 for the 5 Day Program and $499 for the 3 Day Program (lift ticket additionally)
