Dubai is not a region short of superlatives, with new buildings constantly cropping up and renovations taking place, not to mention the countless world records being broken. It is hard to remember that the legacy of the state once revolved around more traditional and natural economic affairs.
Now, Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach has endeavoured to bring to life the more traditional and ancient heritage of the state and showcase the softer, more cultural side that often goes untapped. The “real” Dubai is itching to be explored, and the Resort encourages guests to do so.
Four Seasons is pairing its celebrations for Emirates Women’s Day on August 28, 2015 with the start of a new partnership with the Emirati designer Hessa Al Falasi. Hessa is a highly acclaimed designer in the Middle East, as well as a long serving role model for women in the region. Hessa first stepped onto the scene in 2009 and has quickly built a name for herself in the couture industry. With her innovative, modern and contemporary Abaya designs, each season brings new life to the traditional attire. Largely influenced by a contemporary mix with old Middle Eastern charm, the essence of the brand matches perfectly with what Four Seasons stands for at the Resort: seamlessly blending old and new and allowing visitors to feel a sense of place in a modern and contemporary way.
Inspired by the traditional Abaya attire, Hessa’s designs give customers a modern twist in a plethora of colours and textures. From concept to conception and finally to completion each garment is the result of meticulous planning and work, in turn allowing the customer to feel completely assured that their experience is utterly unique.
Four Seasons guests will have the chance to either go meet the designer and have their garments tailor made, delighting in first-hand experience at the studio and seeing the textures up close. Or, they can sit back and relax in their Resort suite while the shop comes to them. Here the team of designers can come and showcase their current collection, either allowing guests to buy pieces then and there or have pieces custom made.
