Celebrate man’s best friend on Saturday 15th October as Floriade invites the public to bring their pooches to Commonwealth Park for the festival’s annual Dog’s Day Out.
Open to dogs of all shapes and sizes, four-legged furry friends will be welcomed through the gates of the festival and invited to experience a sensory overload like no other. For one day only, owners and pups will have the chance to explore the sights, smells and sounds of this magical event together.
This year for the first time, Dog’s Day Out has teamed up with charity partner Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, an organisation which is thrilled to be involved.
“Guide Dogs cost more than $35,000 to breed, raise and train, and are provided at no cost to those who need them”, said Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Regional Manager, Patrick Shaddock. “Our charity partnership with Floriade will allow us to raise funds to continue our important service of enabling people who are blind or vision-impaired to get around their communities safely and independently”, he continued.
To celebrate the partnership, Guide Dog Ambassador Alfie had a frolic through Floriade on his day off. Dog lovers can check out the cute video here.
Alongside a scheduled program of dog-themed presentations and demonstrations, there will also be prizes on the day for the best dressed dog/s and their owners.
