DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels & Resorts to Expand Portfolio in Australia

DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the signing of the 180-room DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street. Located on 270 Flinders Street in Melbourne, this property will join Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio of 22 hotels in Australasia on December 1, 2014.

Owned by M&L Hospitality and currently trading as Citigate Melbourne, the property is currently undergoing significant renovations in the lobby, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and bedrooms. The newly refurbished hotel will be converted and unveiled as a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in December, and will be managed by Hilton Worldwide.

We have undergone extensive renovations and refurbishments at the property in recent months and we are sure that guests will enjoy the new aesthetics, which have been overseen by leading designers Melissa Chen and Michael McCann.”

A great base for leisure and business travellers, the hotel is strategically located in central Melbourne on Flinders Street, across the road from the historic Flinders Street station and Federation Square. DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street will join Hilton Worldwide’s well-established Hilton on the Park Melbourne and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf hotels. The addition of DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street will cater to a broader range of travellers worldwide with more accommodation options in Melbourne.
