CruiseAway’s parent company Dreamlines, Europe’s biggest online cruise booking portal, exceeded 2016 growth targets and in many cases, substantially. In January 2017, Dreamlines reached the break-even point for the first time globally.

Dreamlines Managing Director Felix Schneider said the years’ success could be attributed to a significant collective effort within the company.

“The entire international team pulled out all the stops to ensure that we achieved our targets,” Mr Schneider said.

“I am very proud of the great effort everyone put in and the success we have achieved together.”

Dreamlines boosted its number of international team of experts by a further 30 per cent in 2016, enabling the company to increase quality and speed of customer service.

A further focus was on expanding the ‘Dreamlines Packages’ segment, which produces specially packaged holidays inclusive of cruises, pre and post cruise elements, special excursions, tours and transfers.

Driven by the great success in its domestic market, Dreamlines is now rolling out its package holiday business in other countries, starting with Australia.

“We will be continuing our dynamic growth in 2017. To achieve this, we’re looking at both internal and external growth options in our existing markets and are considering expanding into new countries”, Mr Schneider said.

Dreamlines is receiving full backing from its investors. At the end of 2016, Dimaventures, Hasso Plattner Ventures, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Global Founders, Altpoint and Target Global provided a further €18 million in funding. Overall, Dreamlines received €32 million from its investors in 2016.

Explaining the investors’ decision to provide further growth funding, Holtzbrinck Ventures’ Christian Saller said, “last year Dreamlines showed just how much potential both the company and the market has, and growth in 2016 very clearly exceeded our ambitious goals”.

“We are confident that Dreamlines, a globally operating company, has what it takes to revolutionise cruise bookings, and are fully committed to supporting this growth as much as we can.”

Alexander Frolov from Target Global added, “the cooperation with Russia’s biggest airline, Aeroflot, further demonstrates the success of Dreamlines in building strong alliances with industry partners.”
