Australians continue to see incredible deals to Europe as fuel costs plummet and Middle Eastern carriers in particular battle for market share.
The latest offer comes from Emirates – fly to Dubai from $1399, enjoy a stopover, and then head to Europe for a mere $100. We are talking Australian dollars here. There are a few conditions – the offer is available to selected destinations including Amsterdam, Athens, Dublin, Lisbon, Madrid, Milan, Vienna and Zurich. To put the value into perspective, the fare to Dubai return is usually around $1800. Money saved can be spent simply exploring the space age city of Dubai – or at some of the finest shopping malls in the world. Booking deadline is June 9.
Qatar meanwhile has also released new specials – Paris for instance from $1405 in economy, $6345 business. The small print states these prices are ex Perth – but there are excellent deals from other capitals as well. Booking deadline is May 31.
Why a major carrier (Qatar now services Adelaide as well as Perth, Sydney and Melbourne and soon Brisbane) bothers with a lead-in price marketing strategy like this I do not know – Air France used to come up with amazing fares to Europe – out of Darwin!
