Dubai Offers a Catwalk for Established and Emerging Designers

MOE - Central GalleriaDubai has long been a favourite holiday destination with shopping fanatics from around the globe and with a growing fashion scene this looks set to continue.

From The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping centre, to a calendar packed full of fashion-themed events, the Emirate has placed itself firmly on the fashion map! With events both large and small taking place around Dubai, there is something for even the choosiest of fashionistas.

For a chance to see the latest Autumn/Winter collections, head down to The Harper’s Bazaar World of Fashion, back at Mall of the Emirates from 3-14 October. Free for all to attend, the luxury shopping event, now in its fifth year, features a series of catwalk shows, exhibitions and competitions.

Women are now open to more contemporary designers with minimalistic pieces and are being adventurous with their selections – it is more about how you are wearing it than who you are wearing.”

A brand new event for this year is the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience which will come to the Middle East for the first time on 10 October at The Dubai Mall. Organised in partnership with Vogue Italia, over 250 fashion brands will come together to celebrate fashion. Guests can enjoy a fashion show at the Fashion Catwalk in the Fashion Avenue where international designers will showcase their latest collections. There will also be an exhibition of 50 of the best Vogue magazine covers of all time in the Grand Atrium. Participating stores will have various items for sale, created especially for the ‘Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience’ with part of the proceeds going towards Dubai Cares, the charity initiative founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

For anyone passionate about fashion, Fashion Forward 2013 is back for the second year running and is a must visit! Taking place at Madinat Jumeirah from 15-18 October, there will be talks, panels and workshops with the region’s most established and emerging designers as well as some of the leading fashion icons in the UAE. The event aims to develop a dynamic, sustainable fashion platform for the Middle East.
